Bringing More Accountability To The State Senate.

Meet John Williams
John Williams is running for election to the West Virginia State Senate, 13th District, representing the eastern portions of Monongalia County and Marion County.
John was elected to the House of Delegates in 2016, and immediately burst into the scene as a champion for middle class families. John has worked tirelessly to make West Virginia a place where families can thrive.
After marrying his wife Jaime and starting a family of his own, the issues of cheap childcare, affordable healthcare, and quality public education became that much more important to him. Even though he had always prioritized these issues, his own experience brought it home.

Despite West Virginia’s many challenges, John knows that West Virginians are kind, compassionate, and welcoming people who deserve a stable economy, available jobs and leadership through trying times. That’s why he’s dedicated his adult life to helping move West Virginia forward.

John remains dedicated to actively working on policies and initiatives that encourage our young Mountaineers, and others outside the area, to make Wild, Wonderful West Virginia their forever home. He continues that fight today, and he is committed to continuing that fight in the Senate.
Too Much Is Too Expensive, And That Needs To Change.
Lowering the Cost-of-Living

Friendly, Reliable Childcare
We need more options for affordable, accessible childcare in our communities. For too many families, childcare is not a practical or reasonable option. West Virginians value family and want the ability to spend quality time together, John wants to make that desire a reality.

Too often politicians talk about family values without talking about the actual things families need. When families have affordable childcare options, they have more say over how they go about their lives.

Cheaper Utilities
For far too long the Public Services Commission has been insulated from being directly accountable to ratepayers. Changes need to occur that force the PSC to prioritize the interests of the ratepayers over political and corporate interests. West Virginians know how to produce energy like no one else, and John wants to fully unleash that strength by supporting an all-of-the-above energy policy.
When ratepayers aren't coming first, they are ending up last.

Affordable Healthcare
While the federal government and state politicians are focused on playing politics with lives of West Virginians, John is focused on finding solutions to the healthcare crisis that so many are facing. Healthcare is a human right.

Additionally, access to affordable healthcare is a game changer for local economic development. When people and businesses think about coming to a new state or area, they think about what kinds of services are available to them, and John wants to make West Virginia a place where folks can have all their healthcare needs met.

Strong Public Education
Everyone deserves to have access to a good education that doesn't change based on your ability to spend. Our local schools can be, and should be, one of the main pillars of our communities. As someone that has attended public schools, John will work endlessly to improve our schools.
Public dollars belong to public schools. Investing in our people is one of the best ways we can invest in West Virginia, and the more that can be done to improve educational outcomes, the better.
